SpoilAlert Privacy Policy
Last updated: 14 October 2026
SpoilAlert ("the app") is made by FOF TECHNOLOGY ("we", "us"). This policy explains what happens to your information when you use the app. The short version: your data stays on your phone, and we do not collect it.
The short version
- No account and no sign-up.
- No ads, no analytics and no tracking.
- The items, dates, notes and photos you add are stored only on your device. We never receive them.
What the app stores on your device
- Items you add: name, category, quantity, expiry date, purchase date, notes and an optional photo.
- Your settings: how many days ahead to remind you, the time of day, and your chosen color theme.
This information is kept in the app's private storage on your phone, which other apps cannot read. We do not have access to it.
Photos
If you attach a photo to an item, you choose it with Android's built-in photo picker, which gives the app only the single photo you select. The app saves a smaller copy of that photo in its private storage on your device. We cannot see your photos, and the app does not upload them anywhere. The app never asks for access to your full photo library.
Notifications
Reminders are created on your phone by the app, based on the dates you entered. No server is involved. On Android 13 and newer the app asks for permission to show notifications. You can decline or change this at any time in your phone's settings, and the rest of the app keeps working. The app also re-creates its reminder schedule when your phone restarts, so your reminders keep working.
Purchases
SpoilAlert Plus is a one-time purchase handled entirely by Google Play. We never see or store your payment details. The app only asks Google Play whether you own SpoilAlert Plus. How Google handles your purchase is described in Google's Privacy Policy.
Device backups
If backup is turned on for your phone, Android may automatically back up the app's data (your items, settings and saved photos) to your own Google account. This lets your data come back if you move to a new phone. It is controlled by your device settings and handled by Google, and we cannot see it. You can turn it off in your phone's settings.
Information we receive
We do not collect, receive, sell or share your personal information. Google may give us aggregated, anonymous crash and performance statistics through Google Play Console, based on data from users who chose to share diagnostics with Google. These statistics do not identify you and do not include your items or photos.
Third parties
The app uses Google Play Billing for purchases and relies on Google Play services as part of Android. It includes no advertising or analytics services.
Children
SpoilAlert is a general-purpose household tool and is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect information from anyone, including children.
How long your data is kept, and deleting it
Your data stays on your device until you delete items or uninstall the app, which removes it from the device. Backup copies in your Google account are managed through your Google account settings.
Your rights
Because we do not collect or hold your personal information, there is nothing for us to access, correct, export or delete on our side. You have full control of your data inside the app and on your device. If you have questions about your privacy, please contact us.
Changes to this policy
If we change this policy, we will update the date at the top. Material changes will also be mentioned in the app's release notes.
